There is a lot to say about dating and what this means for Missionistas, but more about that in other posts.
What I’d like to share here is that ‘Singleness’ is not a disease that needs to be cured, nor is it an in-between life phase that needs to be overcome as soon as possible. It is a blessing and a test. One to be enjoyed, used well and lived to the fullest.
With that in mind, I want to share a prayer that helps to put your focus on God instead of negative feelings that sometimes come with singleness, because there are definitely things that are not easy about ‘waiting‘ and ‘being single’.
Whenever you get worried if you’re ‘ever’ going to meet ‘the one’ or you feel yourself not fully trusting God when it comes to meeting your life partner, saying this prayer out loud really helps:

wow, mic… this is an incredible post. singleness is rad! and you are right– it’s not a “phase” to rush through or cure. what an encouraging thing you have shared with your fellow missionistas!
and may all of the married missionistas out there remember the joy of our single years and rejoice with our single friends instead of pushing and shoving them towards marriage.
